I just sent out an email to this list discussing using laser printers to
print barcodes.  While I am aware of all the wonderful hardware that Zebra
(GREAT name for barcode printers!) and other companies produce, does anyone
have a feel for the total cost of ownership and use?  Laser printers can be
very inexpensive to maintain and the cost of toner and Avery type labels
should be considerably cheaper than the consumables for Zebra-type equipment.
 Comments?

PS: Now wouldn't it be smart for HP to acquire a high margin type business
like specialized barcode printers?   They could sell lots of them to the
OpenMPE user base...
