We have many printers still on HP.
We have a cust statement print program that has been stable for years now, printing on a 4200, and all of a sudden seems broken. Same print sent to a 2055 also fails to behave. Sent to an 8150, works fine....
Problem is that when program says go to foot of page to print total value aged line, print feeds to next page as though its off the bottom margin, otherwise known as perforation skip. Doesn't do it on the 8150.
Cant see anything in the NPCONFIG file that might do it....
All printers have DEFAULT_PAGE_SIZE=26 (a4).
The 2055 is pretty new, and I could believe that might misbehave, but the 4200 is several years old, we print payslips on it with lots of PCL commands, that still works fine.
Since default HP network printers go to Landscape, program sends a hard reset (EscE) to get back to portrait at startup. If I remove this reset, and send a PCL portrait command, the font goes back to smaller, and its all bad horizontally.
I intercepted the spool file, and the no of line feeds from last data line to footer is correct.
FWIW , the file equate does NOT have CCTL in it, so I cant send ctl(67), no perf skip. I did try sending PCL command for disable perf skip, but that didn't help either....
Browsing to 2055 shows form length of 60, which would explain that one's behaviour. Cant see a way to change this via browser?
The 4200 was set to default=letter, so I am changing that to A4 and trying again....Cant see a line count for page size here?

??? Anybody suggest anything please?

Regards,

John Pitman
