John, thanks for the kind words on my undertaking.

As for the 'accuracy' of 'finding a cure'. I don't pretend to
understand what can/does cause cancer (in all of it's forms).
However, there are numerous definitions of 'cure'.
One would be 'prevention', another ' disease reversal', yet another
'symptom elimination'..... you get the idea.

We can't 'cure' measles, but we have pretty much eliminated it as a
killer (at least in most of the world).
I think of "cure" in much the same way. We eliminate the suffering, we
eliminate the 'death sentence' aspect associated
with most forms of cancer. We eliminate the pain and the way it
devastates lives and families.

If we could relegate this disease to the status of measles, I would
consider that a complete and satisfying victory.
Phenomenal progress has been made on numerous fronts in the past few
years, but much work lies ahead. I have watched
several members of my family and very close friends wither away from
this killer. Given my family history, I am considered
very much 'at risk', so I have a large personal stake in the progress we
can make toward a 'cure' (see definition above).
