We have a BIG problem with a short time to fix it, can somebody please
help with any suggestions.

We have just upgraded our 957RX from 5.0 to 5.5, (SLT/FOS/SUBSYS no
Power Patch)everything went fine except for the following:

After we run some of our programs via a DTC session the linefeed is
missing when we press the RETURN key!

When we log on the RETURN key generates the usual CR LF : D1 prompt and
we get a new line... all is OK up to this stage.

Then if then run a BASIC/V compiled program which uses the Basic ENTER
function and calls another program (using our SPL compiled library
routine with the intrinsics CREATE, PRINT, ACTIVATE, QUIT, GETJCW) when
returning to the calling program the DTC does not echo back a LF (ie
RETURN key does not generate LF) and we don't get a new line when in
character mode (in or out of the program .. even when we return back to
system prompt). All commands entered are recognised, we just don't get
that linefeed which means the next line goes over the top of the
previous one. All screen print output has a linefeed but the RETURN key
does not.

I know the LF is missing because when I use DISPLAY FUNTIONS I can't see
it along with the CR and D1.

To get the LF again we need to log off and then on again OR run any
program which uses the basic ENTER funtion but does not call any program
using our library routine.

In summary:

1) We did not have this problem with the Classic or this 957RX running
on MPE/ix 4.0 or 5.0.
2) The problem is confined to DTC sessions because NS/VT or Modem
sessions work fine.
3) We have repowered / reset our DTC's many times since the upgrade.
4) It seems to be a HP DTC software issue. (Backward compatibility ??)
5) HP tell us a Power Patch Tape 'might' fix the problem but cannot give
us assurance it will !

I can see many hours of downtime unless this problem is fixed soon.

My question is:
--------------
Has anybody else experienced this problem and did the power patch fix
it?

Any suggestions are welcome.
