well....to answer my own question.... yes, you pass the new (and
seemingly replacement?) delimiters into x/word using quotes. the
problem seems to be that the above isn't dynamic. that is, the
'image' of 'xx' gets passed into the loop once (and is changed once
(because 'remote' will be removed)) but that's it.
the following does seem to work: setvar x!i word(xx,' .,/',i)
