For those sites who do not have FTP access from their 3000 to the
internet, another option might be using GNU wget to retrieve files
from the net. GNU wget is like a "command line web browser" that
can retrieve files via ftp or http protocols... and it is able to
utilize a proxy server -- so if your PC uses an http or ftp proxy
to get to the "outside world", then your HP 3000 can do the same
for pulling files directly to the MPE/iX disc drives. Interactively
or in batch. You can "mirror" whole web sites with a single wget
invocation (and the right collection of options ;-)

Lars.

PS: Did I mention that GNU wget is available for MPE/iX (freeware)?
