The problem doesn't lie in Reflection or your connection method to the
HP3000. It's actually in your new notebook computer.

Many notebook computers allow you to "re-map" the right-hand alphabetic keys
on your keyboard into a numeric keypad (for instance, an L becomes a 3 and
the letter O ends up as 6), usually by you pushing just one or a few keys.
Read your instruction manual for your new computer; it'll tell you how to
switch the keyboard interpretation back to a standard alphabetic keyboard.

My IBM Thinkpad does this quite often to me --  but not frequently enough
that I remember the key sequence from time to time. I still have to read the
instructions regarding how to get in back into the standard mode every time.
