From Cobol you would just write these escape sequences or something
similar at the start of each page.

 1 PRINTER-UPPER-TRAY.
 3 FILLER PIC X VALUE %033.
3 FILLER PIC XXXX VALUE "&l1H".
 1 PRINTER-LOWER-TRAY.
 3 FILLER PIC X VALUE %033.
3 FILLER PIC XXXX VALUE "&l4H".

Some printing solutions automatically pre-pends such information to the
spoolfile as it is forwarded to the printer.

Subject: [HP3000-L] PRINTING TO DIFFERENT TRAYS QUESTION

We have several HP90xx laser printers that have three print drawers,
actually 4 but one is a manual tray.

Does anyone have a "how to" procedure on setting up trays with different
paper stock and selecting by tray?
Our goal is to use multiple trays for different paper as a standard
setup.

Any information is much appreciated

Thanks,

Joe D
