According to new reports this morning, Davis has just promised to maintains
closer communication with the people if the recall fails.

This is an empty promise to attempt to convince enough people not to support
recall.  He has had plenty of time to listen to the people, and has had
plenty of warnings people were unhappy with his leadership.  The special
interests got him elected and that is who he will be loyal to.  If the
recall fails he knows the chances of another one are very slim, so he
can feel safe forgetting his promise at that time.
