I commend Jon Cohen's and Scott McClellan's very timely and quick-response
posts today detailing the bug associated with Powerpatch 5 and the
explanations therein. And thanks to Wirt for expediting the response.

But - I can only hope that - given the problem is so fully understood by HP
- more details missing from this post are offered.

Specifically, from Jon and Scott's posts, it's still not clear to me how
obvious the effect of this bug is. If one is affected by it, is it
immediately obvious, and, if not, what are the possible future consequences
of inaction, and corresponding remedies ?

Also, since this problem appears not to be directly Image-related, are
there any common (or even uncommon) actions other than a DBUTIL ERASE that
can cause this so-called incorrect eof shrinkage. For example, can a
KSAMUTIL erase effect the same consequences ?

Other questions come to mind, but at this moment I am most interested in
having more answers pertaining to potential data corruption for those out
there - and I'm sure there are more than a handful - that are currently
running 5.5 with pp5.

I realize Scott has promised more details to come - I hope he meant in
addition to those offered by Jon.
