Let me add just a few comments to what James has already said. These new
patches fix a number of problems, some of which are associated only with
"advanced telnet" and some of which affect every telnet user.

Some of the corrections to the HP3000's telnet behavior that I know of are
these:

o Persistent ghost sessions due to abnormal telnet termination.
Previous versions of the telnet client on the HP3000
would occasionally leave "ghost" sessions on the
list of active sessions. This version corrects that.

o Frequent timeouts when long-distance (continental scale) telnetting.
This new version is very robust when telnetting over long
distances. I can maintain a connection to Africa for days
        now.

o Display of passwords when in Advanced Telnet mode.
At the moment, this correction only affects QCTerm,
although as the other terminal emulator manufacturers
adopt advanced telnet, it will become of concern to
        everyone.

o Double-echoing of typed text when in Advanced mode.
Again, this is, at the moment, only of concern to
        QCTerm users.

o XON/XOFF flow control is now present in the HP3000's telnet.
         This affects everyone.

o Eliminates suppression of LF in CRLF pair.
This affects everyone who uses a product such
as Qedit over a telnet connection. While Reflection
solved the problem as a workaround, and Robelle
also put a workaround in Qedit, the initial problem
is now corrected. You will no longer get the (paraphrased)
message, "Missing LF. Suspected bad transfer."
