Gibson,

Take a copy of the UDC file and make your changes to it. Then use the Posix
'mv' command to replace the existing UDC file with the new one. This change
will not affect any current users of the UDC file. To get the effect of your
changes a user will have to logoff and then log back on.

For example,

  :hello user.account,udcgroup
  :copy udcfile,newudc
  :editor (make your changes)
  :sh -L
shell/iX> man mv (this will display the documentation for the mv command)
  shell/iX> mv ./NEWUDC ./UDCFILE
  shell/iX> exit

regards,
