        They will need to disable hardware compression by calling:
xeq devctrl.mpexl.telesup nn;compression=disable
where 'nn' is the ldev number of the tape drive.

        This needs to be repeated every time the machine is rebooted, so it
would need to be put into a job streamed by SYSSTART.PUB.SYS  (for
instance) which takes other start of session actions. This command can't
be executed from SYSSTART itself.
