SIGCOBOL will be managing a table at the HP World Exhibition at the 3kworld
booth on Monday 11th September. Come along and join us for a COBOL chat and
get your free COBOL button and CD of goodies. The CD will contain the draft
of the next COBOL standard, copies of the HP Cobol Reference Manual and HP
COBOL Programmers Guide plus many more interesting  COBOL items.

Come along to our meeting at 4:30 on the Monday and join in the fun of a
prize drawing of over 13 valuable items.

Drawing for COBOL Give-aways

In the last 30 mins, before the drawing, the emphasis will be on the types
of projects people are developing and as a side issue the tools they are
using. I want to see if we can get people talking about how they are using
COBOL rather than a comparison of tools this year.

The chance to win the COBOL Give-away(s) will be available for all people
who attend the SIGCOBOL meeting. Only people present at the SIGCOBOL meeting
will be eligible to win. There are at least 14 prizes to be won from Acucorp
(AcuCobol), Merant (Microfocus Cobol) and LegacyJ (PerCobol).

Up to an hour to discuss an offer by CASEMaker Inc to develop a truly
comprehensive Application Development Framework for HPe3000 COBOL
developers. This is the company that developed Acubench for Acucorp. They
already have a number of PC and UNIX development tools for COBOL programmers
on other platforms. The lead architect for CASEMaker would like to discuss
the needs for the HPe3000 COBOL programmer before they commit to start work
on the product. Everyone is welcome to stay and participate.

On Thursday at 8:00am I will be presenting a tutorial on "COBOL Programming
for the HP e3000" focusing on HP extensions and COBOL 85 features.
