Just to pick a semantic nit, the FSF folks wouldn't want any of the GNU
software to be referred to as "shareware". Shareware is try-before-you-buy
software, you can take a generous test drive but the copyright-holder still
expects you to pay for the privilege of using the software. GNU is Free
Software, not shareware, nor is it in the public domain. See the GNU
