Hah! There's a book for MPE weenies ...
But, I mean, it's not fair. Why isn't there a MPE-haters book ?? ;-)

That's really just a convention, UNIX couldn't give a toss about that.
You might just as easily turn this feature off by issuing "set -f" in the shell,
and let every program invent the wheel for itself.
