We did just this on our 918's.  It was a simple change for us.  Shut the 
system down, pull the MFIO board, swap a jumper, re-install MFIO board, 
and away you go.

We have noticed no impact, nor did we need to reconfig anything.  Of
course, 
your system may be different.
