My company is currently heavily into a new product for Linux which is an
IDE similar to VB or Delphi running under KDE. The language you use is
built as a plug in, and OO COBOL will be supported in the first release, as
well as C++. What is interesting is that instead of writing a compiler, we
wrote a COBOL to GCC convertor so we can take advantage of that
compiler. The work is currently pretty far along, but it won't be released
until the end of the year most likely.

We are also building a Visio type product and were considering a module
that would read through header files and generate a UML diagram within the
charting program, but that wouldn't be till next year. There was a program
in the CSL as I recall called COBCHART I think that would chart out a COBOL
program, but it had some limitations in it.
