Well, there was more than one reason I started this thread, and I was not
disappointed. Ten different people provided me with valuable information and
insight, and a variety of perspective. One of them even recommended another
as having experience with a larger environment, and was right. The fact that
some of the responses disagreed on certain points did not bother me. It only
made me regret that I asked for off-list replies. Had this happened on list,
the respondents would have at least had the opportunity to publicly
disagree, and compare notes on why they held certain views. With this list's
history of sustaining polite disagreement, the discussion would have proved
interesting, so long as we avoided any chest-thumping about why this tool is
better than that tool.

Don't let the thread die now if you have something to add, or some point to
clarify. Assuming that during the assessment I learn some things that might
be of interest to Macintosh among us, I certainly intend to post a follow
up.

I stomp on your sour grape iMac.
(isn't that one of the new colors?)
That ugly round thing is a foot pedal, right?

Okay, I'll let the thread die now... (as long as I don't have to respond
again. ;-)

Patrick
