As Wirt says, indoor spraying of DDT is recommended. But then, it always
was.
The problem was always DDT spraying in open areas.
The mosquitos developed immunity to it (this is probably why the usual
suspects are so
very pro-DDT everywhere - the development of resistance is a process
that's
a bit too close to evolution, and we can't have that, can we?
 Even "micro-evolution"?)

Plenty of good stuff here.

Just very recently, in September, almost 30 years after it phased out
widespread indoor spraying of DDT, the World Health Organization has
announced that
DDT will be used as one of the three main tools against malaria. WHO is
recommending indoor residual spraying in epidemic areas, as well as in
places with
constant and high malaria transmission.
