It's the other way around. I want to thank you all for continuing to report
problems with QCTerm. Total perfection is the goal. Nothing else is
acceptable.

In this particular case, I do want to sincerely thank Tracy for reporting the
problem and Mark Bixby for teaching me enough "vi" to recreate the problem
(Sadly, Mark's lessons didn't take however. I still haven't the slightest
idea how to use "vi", but after seeing what I have seen, I also willing to
let that go :-).

Nonetheless, if you do find anything that doesn't work like it should, please
let me know. It is our pleasure to correct it and make it right.

If the development of QCTerm seems like it's taking forever, you ought to see
it from our perspective :-). A portion of that perception may be because
we're doing all of its development out in the open. You all have been part of
the process from the first days.

Ordinarily, as a vendor we'd develop the software in-house, secretly, until
it became good enough to give out to a few beta sites, and only then, after a
long testing period of perhaps a year or two, begin to sell it on the open
market. This time we're doing it differently. What that means for you
unfortunately is a lot of updates, and you get to see a lot more faux pas' in
this procedure, but in general the development cycle for QCTerm isn't going
any differently than for any other product we've ever built.

We will move QCTerm up to Version 1.0 once we get file transfer into the
emulator. What we're planning on doing now is actually building a
free-floating MPE/iX/Linux/UNIX-aware FTP GUI engine that will be launched by
QCTerm from its pull-down menus. Because this will be a free-standing,
independent program, you will also be able to run this FTP routine by itself,
without actually having to be in QCTerm at the time. And, of course, using
our very finest business model, this program will be free, too.

If you're going to ask when will this done, the answer is "soon." Please
consult your Atmarian calendar for further details.
