My wife is a 'SAHM', also, although she is going to school full-time and
plans to teach when she is done. Not including uniform shoes (4 pair - I'm
in the Navy Reserve), I have four pairs. As a guess, I would say my wife
has at least twelve, of which she wears three of four consistently.

Okay, I'll voice a different opinion. I have been married twice - and
neither wife had an excessive number of shoes. In fact, my wife has
fewer shoes that I do (and I only have 4 pair - not counting my boots).
Maybe it's not the female / male thing that everyone thinks it is. Or
perhaps it's a question of how often one goes out... Or maybe it
depends on if the ladies work outside the home. Both times I have been
married, my wife was a "SAHM". Neither was a "socialite" - they are
more content at home than "on the town".
