FWIW, MS Access is in no way part of the xBase family. It can read and write the dBase files. It can also directly read Lotux and Excel files, but that doesn't make it a member of either of those families. FoxPro is MS's only offering in the branch descended from dBaseII.

Regarding the original posting: I'm pretty (OK, completely) sure that everything you need done could be done by Reflection Basic plus appropriate script files, but it sounds like that is not a guaranteed-available capability.

Trivia: anybody remember what MS's *first* database attempt was named? And what significant current product came out of it?
