Folks,
The culprit is Vesoft's AIF:PE 'HELLO' that intercepts logons to the server
and takes actions based on the contents of the file "HELLO.DATA.VESOFT".
While their on-line help says:
...
A default HELLO.DATA.VESOFT file will be installed automatically by the
VESOFT
installation job (it does not contain entries that change the default
behavior
of your system).
...
It seems that "by default" FTP's 'site stream' command is refused.
The solution is to add the following into the configuration file:
$CONFIG NETJOB allow <logon ID>
Where the 'logon ID' is the 'logon ID' of the submitted job. If not
specified then [log in to unmask]@' is implied.
