That is pretty cool. However, it doesn't always work. For example it
doesn't tell me what error code 1477 is. Does anybody know?

MPE keeps getting better and better on the help system -- try this:

:help cierr1441

and it (should) respond with:

MESSAGE INCORRECT PASSWORD. (CIERR 1441)

CAUSE The password provided was incorrect.

ACTION Provide a valid password.

[admittedly, this isn't the best example in the world -- there isn't much
different you could put for "cause" or "corrective action", now is there?]

Do you have any "third party" security tools [vesoft, RAS (?), montery
software, or even HP's security monitor]? These "tools" often allow you to
omit or include intentionally INCORRECT "passwords" in the
file-to-be-streamed, then alters the jobcard at submission time PROVIDED you
actually "submit" the job via their product. Sleeper has a configuration
option for Vesoft's products in particular to use their "submitter", but the
other products should have a similar mechanism.
