You don't mention which database you are using at the HP end or what is your
application at the PC end, but here goes nothing:
 
If your PC application can use ODBC interface then get ALLBASE or IMAGE/SQL
for HP. If you are creating your own PC application you could use for
example my TurboImage server at HP side which allows full access to
Image intrinsics on a PC as run locally at the HP.
 
In some cases you could use Gupta PC API at the PC end if your app. supports
that.
