Thanks for the replies on my questions.. Just to answer a few
of yours....

>>For the users who's pc's died, did their term
>>sessions time out or die immeditly?

>Didn't you answer your own question above?

  Not really, this wasn't really a issue that's why I didn't
include it at my "real" questions at the bottom. Just a matter
of thought really. Another topic all it's own. To use an
analogy. If your on the phone with someone and cut the line
between. The user on one end of the phone may contine talking
for a few seconds/minutes until they realize there is a problem
then hang up. Depending on the person...
I was curious as to how the hp3k handels that. Weather or not
it notices right away, or waits for a long time. How long will
it hold open a session with a ghost. If you know please answer
off list, as it's not really a pressing issue...

>SHOWJOB ;JOB=#J'4124
That was my fault. I typo'd my question in the first place. I
ment showout job=#J'4124. Which works in longhand. My udc was
giving the error not the command. I have a short cut "soj" and
the user input bombs with a ' in it. I just have to use longhand
when referencing files before the outage, not a problem.

>> 1. Is there any way to recover the out.hpspool back to
normal.
>Nothing has changed except the name that is displayed.

It's early, I was here from 7am to 12am last night, and back at
7am this morn. Forgive me for the dumb question. Your obiously
correct..

>Don't know why you care, but since you apparently do,
>look into the SETCOUNTER command.

Thanks, I will do that. I don't really "care" it's just for
stupid reasons. I have a list off all jobs i've ran and it just
looks nicer in order. I left of at 4332 then todays is 14. The
DFID's stayed in line. Only the job numbers only reset for
obious reasons. I guess if falls under the catigory "because I
can". The wanting it to be 4 digits always, that's just becuse
my sheet that I write the nums on looks nicer when it's all in
even columns.. lol

>manually abort any jobs or sessions still hanging
>around before shutting down - it is not clear to me
>if you did that.

Thankfully I rememberd to do all that. I aborted everything and
lowered the limit to 1,1 just incase someone tried to remotly
log on. Then issued the power down...

 Thanks again..
