Denys writes about the non-future of NC's and Bruce T. counters.....

I think both overstate heir case.

Networks are expanding and cable modems, as well as NC's, are
advertised today. So much for Denys' dim view. The NC will find
a use with those who merely want to browse and entertain themselves.

The PC will still be popular with more erudite people who want more
flexibility. And PC's will EASILY be hooked up to the new high resolution
TV's just around the corner.

It is the same centralization vs. decentralizatiion issue in different guise.
The pendulum will still swing back and forth, but neither will win out
completely.

And, of course, some new technology, yet unforeseen, may come into
being and radically change the picture!
