This is a very good idea for the long term replacement of systems.
I have a question, however, what about the short term? In the past we could
depend on SunGard, IBM or some DR service provider to get the equipment to a
hotsite or coldsite within X hours. Will these DR service providers be able
to guarantee HP 3000 equipment in the future? Could this be a whole new
enterprise for somebody willing to buy a few HP 3000s on the off chance
they might be needed in a DR situation?
