Gavin, at this point we should probably factor in the respective price of
both solutions, NetBase/SharePlex and MC/ServiceGuard. You'll find a 10:1
ratio, approx. Such a price gap makes it hard for an e3000 shop manager to
justify the price.

Bottom line : I agree with you that, according to the generally accepted
HP3000-L (and else) Mission Critical definitions, probably the same
proportion of e3000s and 9000 servers would qualify. But ... the tremendous
price tag of NetBase/Shareplex, especially when compared to MC/ServiceGuard,
makes it hard to sell the solution. My point is just that : the proportion
of NetBase/Shareple systems within the e3000 installed base is probably way,
way lower than the proportion of MC/ServiceGuard systems in the 9000 SERVER
(excluding workstations, therefore) installed base.
