To all of you who responded to my woes regarding NETMAIL configuration,
THANKS! Here is a summary of what has happened. First, I received
responses covering three basic areas:

1. Sendmail/iX and Qpopper
2. Netmail config assistance
3. Mail from Telamon

I started by downloading Sendmail/iX and Syslog and had actually configured
Syslog and was working on SendMail, when I received a follow-up call from a
Netmail tech support guy from the UK (thanks, Simon). At that point, he
walked me thru the very simple NETMAIL config and we were up and running
within 30 minutes. Another HP3000 Listserv contributor (thanks, Mark) went
so far as to give me several pointers over 3 or 4 e-mails regarding the
configuration of Sendmail/iX.

Finally, I received a call from an individual at BeechGlen (thanks, Mike)
and he walked me through the MAIL freeware from the Telamon experts. It
turns out that MAIL accomplishes exactly what we need. We already have a
Microsoft Exchange Server that was handling our e-mail, and freeware MAIL
was perfect in that it simply used that service to send e-mail from the
HP3000. For those of you who don't know about MAIL, I was extremely pleased
with this all-in-one solution and I recommend it's use for anyone who has a
simple need to send e-mail from the HP3000 and already has an SMTP host on
your LAN.
