        Hi HP Listers,

it may not be really more new new development or new systems, at
least not in Germany, but I am under the impression, that the
availability of boxes to developers / contractors may lead to an
increased willingness of mixed sites to keep their existing systems. One
factor in "streamlining" the IT organization seems to have been the need
to have appropriate knowledge in stock.

The HP3000 itself does not require much attention, so if the
know-how for applications (development as well as maintenance) can be
aquired elsewhere (t.ex. from small sites with an own 918), the pressure
of removing the "exotic" lessenes.

        Elisabeth Corsten-Weseloh
EC Datentechnik GmbH (one of these small sites ...)
