Jeff brings up a good point, the calls could be getting intercepted. One
thing I know to be a fact about Image, the CONDITION-WORD will always be
returned to the calling process. DISPLAY the condition-word after every
image call.
I somewhat recall a JCW that can be set to cause the IMAGE Intrinsic to
display, not only that it has been called, but the results of the call
as well. Anyone recall the name of it, and the values to set it to.
IMAGE is rock solid, it won't experience errors without saying so, via
the CONDITION-WORD. I've even seen it return an unknown condition word,
but a non-zero non-the-less.
Then there is the possibility of a corrupted data segment, where things
are never what they seem to be.

Hello Group,
I'm having a very strange problem with a 987 running 6.0 that serves
as
our D.R. system. This system had been working fine but all of a sudden
my
Cobol programs can't access the Image databases. The DB calls just
don't
get processed.
I'm able to access the databases using Query but not my Cobol
programs.
Anyone out there ever seen this? I've already restored PUB.SYS and
also
done an Update with the latest SLT.
Any help would be appreciated.
