I have been searching the web for a while now and it occurred to me that
someone on this list might have a better idea of what I am looking for than
I do. I have many detailed Microsoft Visio docs that I'd like to combine
together but I know there is so much detail that they would be too complex
to follow. In an attempt to think outside the box I thought maybe I could
find a super slick 3D Visio-like tool that would let me make use of all that
unused 3D space above my 2D Visio diagrams. ;-)

I do NOT want to spend the next nine months creating complex 3D objects or
diagrams though, so it needs to be easy to use (similar to Visio) and I
don't need to run any simulations or have any of my objects animated (though
that would be way cool). I have already looked at AutoCAD which APPEARS too
complex and 3D Studio which APPEARS more for movie creation than for data
modeling.

Any nudges in the right direction would be appreciated.

In Fact in PowerHouse 8.19 and I think since version 6, you can have Indexed
subfiles, so, you create your subfile in QTP this way:

        SUBFILE SUB1 KEEP INCLUDE ITEM1, ITEM2 INDEX ITEM1

Or, you can create the subfile in Quiz also.

        REPORT ITEM1 ITEM2
SET SUBFILE NAME SUB1 INDEX ITEM1

And then, you can access them in QUIZ:
ACCESS *CUSTOMER LINK ITEM1 TO ITEM1 OF *SUB1

In QTP:
ACCESS *CUSTOMER LINK ITEM1 TO ITEM1 OF *SUB1

Or even in QDESIGN:
         FILE *CUSTOMER
         FILE *SUB1 REFERENCE
          ...
         FIELD ITEM1 LOOKUP ON SUB1 VIA ITEM1

I hope this work for you.

Subject: [HP3000-L] LINKING SUBFILES.

Hello listers,

Does anybody know of a creative way of linking two subfiles with
a common data item(in both for linking) in Powerhouse Quiz?

Thanks,

Joe A.
