OK (boy, I've got to come up with some other way to start one of
these things), we've got the HP268x series of printers that use
;ENV= files to do different kinds of printing (LP, ELITE, etc.).
Now we have the HP5000 series of printers (Fxxx for fan-fold paper
and Cxx(?) for cut-sheet). The 'F' series, as I understand it, are
replacements for the 268x. Since they use PCL4, they can't use the
old ;ENV= files in the HPENV.SYS group. How do they do the different
font/character types, or are they restricted to LP? If these files
exist, could they be used on other LaserJet-type printers?
Enquiring minds want to know...
I know the thoughts expressed here are my own because no one else would claim
them!
