The following is my reply to Wirt re a posting of his yesterday:

"I guess, Wirt, that we should all get used to the 'new' hp (post-merger failure) as our one-stop shopping experience for printers, with good ol' Walter at the helm, in between music and academic engagements. I don't know where some of the people on the '3000-l' can possibly see anything positive emanating from a failed merger, can you?

And this is why, more than any other reason, I'm opposed to the
merger...it's being done for the wrong reasons.  I also suspect HP is
paying too much for Compaq, although don't ask me to prove it.
