No steering wheel, since the alignment and suspension are so perfect you
only need to use the joystick (which looks exactly like the gear shift in
most other cars) to turn or change direction, which automatically engages
turn signals. Drivers regularly seen perusing owner's manuals for other
vehicles with the available time this leaves many of them (except for those
who own a large number of these, or one or more different models). Very
plain looking lights, signals, and interior. Body is noticeably dated, and
frequently confused with an apparently identical and more popular model,
especially by employees of the manufacturer. Manufacturer and model
indicators come in the body color so as to be almost entirely camouflaged,
although these can be clearly seen located just below the VIN plate. Gets a
couple hundred miles to the gallon, although the manufacturer declines using
known standard metrics. Wipers available from third-party vendors, but
optional, since the windshield naturally repels water. Power windows are not
available, but the hand-cranks show remarkable ease of use. Manufacturer
radio almost impossible to order, but can be fitted with standard components
and systems from several vendors. Comes standard with early navigational
system to can work with GPS when ordered with the Navigate/GPS add-on.
Manufacturer insists that since it is ideal for long trips, it is primarily
used only for long trips. Available in two and four door models; four door
tier costs almost twice as much as the two door model. Recent two door model
can only go one-quarter the speed of the four door model. Although it is by
design as high-performance vehicle, there are some concerns backing up. No
immediately visible exhaust system. Can go entire lifetime without a
tune-up, although tune-ups are recommended with heavy utilization. Leads the
industry in safety and crash-prevention features and low cost of ownership.
Has been seen around a number of Fortune companies, but generally in small
number relative to other vehicles, and frequently older models: Cupertino,
and several of other places.
