I'm using Samba (for Linux, not Samba/iX) with Windows for Workgroups. The
one big catch is that WfW upshifts the password before sending it to the
server for authentication. There is a setting that you can specify that
downshifts the entire password before comparing it, and another that will
try
various permutations of upshifted characters in order to do the
validation.
