Stan,

    Can you find in File Transfer a transfer link setting.  I know
where it is on the Mac version.  :-)  Anyway, if you set the transfer
link to 7 bits, I think that would solve your problem without having to
change the last two items above.  I have found that this setting fixes
some problems when transfering from a remote session (all network
connections NS/VT type.)
