I would suggest setting permanent and transient space each equal to 
100% on ldev 2.

The 75% default on ldev 1 is fine as long as you don't need the space.

And if you did, your solution shouldn't really be trying to squeeze 
the little extra you'd get by increasing the default max. limits.

The reason for limiting ldev1 to 75% is to minimize the otherwise 
already heavy traffic on ldev 1, since the system directory must 
reside there, as well as many other high traffic "system" files.
