To accomplish this task on other machines than the HP3000 might well
require a computer genius, if you hit them running with no training for
the job....

How inexplicable. Perhaps she wanted to maximise the chances of the
management being proved horribly wrong.

Unfortunately, with the ease of use of the HP3000, and with the
resources of HP3000-L being available to you, this may not happen.

Management will pride themselves on their perspicacity, never realising
that only the combination of the previous management's sound choice of
the HP3000, and the unsung heroics of a bunch of techies they don't even
know and who don't even work for them, has saved their sorry asses.....

Plus you, of course.
Make damn sure *your* heroics get sung (and it sounds like they are), so
you don't find yourself following in her footsteps :-)
