As Mark Bixby wrote, you should not use this version of Perl.  I plan on
removing it sometime soon (but I have gotten way behind on jazz related
work).  I hope to get the latest perl on jazz soon too, but meanwhile I'll
probably just link to Mark's port (if that's alright with him).

Thanks for the nice comments.  I will entertain all ideas on how to improve
jazz and its contents.  I view jazz as really being your web site.  The
one caveat I'll mention is that, unfortunately,  I have limited time to
manage and improve jazz.
