I believe it is possible. We are using Xerox printers, but are talking
through a PC equipped with software and I/O cards provided by Barr
Systems. It is my understanding that the Xerox printers equipped with
the Sun workstations have similar capabilities. The Barr system also
uses LPR, which we provide via a third-party spooling program (we
have Spoolmate from Tivoli. NBSPOOL can also do it, and I'm sure others
can as well). MPE does not have LPR, AFAIK.

We need information about the conection between an Hp3000 and a
Xerox Printer 4050 using TCP/IP.
This printer uses a SUN as a controller device.
Questions: a - Is the above possible?
b - Xerox suggest the installation of Native LPR on the
HP3000?

Thanks in advance
