Paul

We used Formation from Tymlabs when one of our clients had a 2680. When it
got old and too expensive, and when LaserJets got fast and cheap, we
migrated all his forms from 2680 to generic Laserjet.

Formation simply recompiled the forms for us, after we specified the
Laserjet as the target printer. No problem.

The biggest headache was redesigning and converting the 2680 pre printed
continuous forms into A4 cut sheet.

We took the opportunity to discard many pre printed forms, and now the
client only has two - cheques (with the cheque at the bottom of a blank A4
sheet) and membership cards (which get encased in plastic after printing).

Client now has a mix of Laserjets, III, IIISi, 4, 4Plus, 4MV, IIP, 5Si
(beauty) all on Jetdirect cards on the LAN. We use NBSpool to move stuff to
them.

Big savings in stationery costs, fast response to redesign requests, bigger
savings in maintenance on the 2680 vs Laserjets, possibility of distributing
fancy reports across the network and delivering prints to the departmental
printers direct.

Hope this helps
