Our experience required that we also deal with OS/390 and that is a complicating factor.
We had to find alternatives to our IBM connection.

Otherwise, it was just a matter of reconfiguring the NMCONFIG file with NMMGR.
I did not find a way to copy all the reachable gateway addresses with something like cut and paste: I did them all by hand and re-entered them; but someone may have an easier way to deal with the problem.

If you are installing a 100 Megabit Card, there are some caveats to follow.
Be sure you have the appropriate subsystem tape with the communications software on it.
That one nearly nailed us.

Also, given it was the weekend and we pay for 8AM to 9PM M-F, I decided to install the 100MB card myself.
Some how the I/O board was fried and the system would not IPL.
We had to replace it--paying full price for a weekend visit from our friendly CE.
And that led to the ugly incident of our gaining 12 seconds every minute and having to have our friendly CE come back to use SS_CONFIG to set the quartz clock properly.

Other than that, no sweat.

I'm sorry to ask this question, but I have been asked to see if anyone else
has changed from Token Ring to Ethernet on a 3000, and what their
experiences were, what was required, etc.

In the interests of working and playing well with others, I'm a-askin'.
