FYI All,

Besides the SIGImage/SQL Ballot that Interex just helpfully put up
on the web for us, note that 2001 HP-UX SIB is also up.. **BUT**:
It sez "Voting will be closed on Sunday, December 18, 2001."...
.... oops: hmmm...: Did they mean:
[a] Sunday (today), which is **16** December.... or:
   [b] Tuesday 18 December 2001.

For the moment I'm going to assume the most lenient interpretation;
i.e.: Tuesday 18 December. If that's the case, then may I direct
your attention to:
http://www.interex.org/advocacy/survey/sib2001.html
and click "Cast Your Votes Now!" at bottom after read; or direct to:
http://www.interex.org/advocacy/survey/hpuxsib01.html

Note you can cast 20 votes in each of seven separate sections.
I direct all members of this list especially to "Section 6 - Software
Development:", first item:

" Need HP to adopt a general policy of opensource-ing
obsolete/discontinued products."

I gave above item 20 votes (but didn't vote on rest of HP-UX ballot,
since DNA to me).... :-)

Also note that unlike the SIGImage/SQL Ballot, HP-UX SIB does
not tell you if your vote was successfully recorded after you hit
"Submit"; it just takes you back to first above URL.. so apparently
just have to assume that it worked...

SIDEBAR: Was somewhat interesting to scan the HP-UX ballot to
see what the Unix weenies are wishing for....
