I just received my PowerPatch 4 that I ordered last Thursday. I might
consider installing it instead of the combination Express/PowerPatch 3 tape
that you have there.

Depending on which patches you installed after MPE/iX 5.0, you may have goofed
up some of the SOMs in XL.PUB.SYS. These SOMs will not checksum properly and
the PowerPatch will not recognize your system as having these products.

To correct this situation, you must install patch LNKHXP5, followed by the
already install patches that replaced SOMs in XL.PUB.SYS. Then, with the
corrected SOM, you can install future PowerPatches. Either PP 3 or PP 4.

Another longer option is to start fresh with your 5.0 Factory SLT, FOS, and
SUBSYS tapes and AUTOINST using the 'UPDATE plus POWERPATCH' option. Yuck!!!
Warning: This procedure may mean you need to re-install third party products
into the XL.

I would not recommend installing any powerpatches until you get confirmation
of what I have just posted from HP.
