Yes and make sure you set the proper SCSI address on the new drive and that
it is terminated the same way the previous drive was.

I would boot from the alternate path (tape drive) and run ode/mapper.
Can the system 'see' all the drives? Is the boot path correct?

After replacing ldev 2 I am trying to boot the system from CSLT. Getting

I have tried 2 different CSLT tapes and get the same error.
Anyone have any ideas?
