Hi World,
We are using Quest S/W 's NFS between HP 9000 and 3000. We have mounted a
directory from HP 3000 on HP 9000.
System Details:
----------------
HP 9000 Series 715, HP-UX 9.05
HP 3000 MPE/XL, Quest NFS Version A.02.05.007
We need to create data files from HP 9000 on to the mounted HP 3000 disc.
The s/w on 9000 is written in C.
When we write into a file, the file is seen from the 3000 side as Binary
file.
Q1. Is it possible to create the ASCII type ( FA ) file from HP-UX C. Is there
any configuration that I must do in the NFS S/w ?
Q2. Even the binary file, the MPE record size is different than the actual.
For (example), If I create a unix file with 12 lines with end of lines,
MPE reports to me as 35 records ... some goofing up of the EOF marker ..?
Has anybody tried to do this ? i.e use NFS and create a file on the mounted
MPE Disk from 9000 using C ?
This is quite critical for our project :-<
Thanks in advance for your tips, source, pointers... etc
Cheers, Thanks again
