Well, we might be overlooking something here. I'm not a POWERHOUSE person
(ok, so I handle all of the dictionaries, period), but you might look in
the POWERHOUSE code for the user class specified when the database is
opened. If the code/defaults/etc specify a reader class, as gleaned from
the above suggestions, no amount of begging/pleading/cajoling will let you
gain write access. We use both class names and class numbers (depending
upon who wrote what) in our applications, and this one has bitten us a
couple of times.
